MacKalyn "Kaly" Rendel
UX and Human Factors Specialist
I am a graduate student at the University of Houston Clear Lake pursuing a Master of Science in Psychology with a Concentration in Human Factors and User Experience (UX). My academic and professional journey has been guided by a passion for understanding people and improving their experiences through thoughtful research and design.
I began my undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University in Engineering, drawn by a deep interest in technology. Over time, I realized that I wanted a more direct and personal impact on people’s lives, which led me to transition into the Bachelor of Science in Psychology program on the Pre-med track. During this time, I gained valuable experience through an externship with a world-renowned cardiologist at UTHealth McGovern Medical School and research involvement in a psychology lab at Texas A&M.
Now, as a graduate student, I’ve expanded my expertise through industry-sponsored projects that apply human factors and UX principles in real-world contexts. These hands-on experiences have sharpened my skills in user-centered design, usability testing, and system evaluation, preparing me to contribute meaningfully to teams that bridge psychology, design, and technology.
I am seeking opportunities that allow me to apply my interdisciplinary background in human factors, UX, psychology, and engineering to solve complex problems, enhance user experiences, and create intuitive, impactful solutions that improve how people interact with systems and technology.
